Madison had an infectious laugh that could brighten even the gloomiest day. Her love for humor was evident in everything she did; whether it was through clever jokes or playful banter, she sought out laughter relentlessly. She had a knack for capturing moments on her phone, often catching us when we'd least expect it that showcased our quirks in the funniest ways possible. Friends were always amused when they stumbled upon her collection of surprising clips—each one meticulously timed to catch us off guard just as we’d least expect it.

She never wanted to disappoint us and always put forth her best effort (unless it was time to clean her room or the kitchen. Ha!) She used deflection and humor as a way to stay out of trouble! She thought it was fun to “watch” the parents on the find my app and then do things to let us know she was watching. One time we were at a Mexican restaurant and she texted us and said, “you’re eating tacos without me?!”. She would also post photos on Bill’s desk photo screen. It was funny because she would watch him on the app and see him going down the hall to his office, and then time her photo to post just the moment he sat at his desk.

Madison Becknell excelled in her studies in the Clinical Leadership and Management program at the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences. She made the Dean’s List multiple times, even while she was active in her community and with her church and sorority. She helped fellow students in their studies and was respected and appreciated by faculty.
Madison was excited for the future of healthcare and her role in it. Sarah Kercsmar, department chair and associate professor in the Clinical Leadership and Management program, said, “She was often the one sitting in the front row, eagerly engaged and, you know, put her hand up and was ready to go.” Madison was interested in integrative medicine after finishing her senior practicum, an extension of classroom experience, at UK. “She found her love and her passion,” Kercsmar said.

And she approached her studies and work in health care in that way.”
